A person claiming to be a GW PR Rep contacted me in game about a supposed EUBA Violation (his typo, not mine). I pressed for more clarification, but got none. What really piqued my interest was this character was LFG a few minutes later.
I have everything screenshotted (that a even word?), and just might pursue the issue. I suspect claiming to be a GW employee is a violation in itself. |

LMD - most likely there was someone in-game called "Dave Daniels" claiming to be working for/with/from AreaNet. More that likely trying to scam someone with a password scam (ie "I work in ANet, and we need to verify some details, please give me your user name and password!" or something like that) or trying to get money/items off them..
I personally would say that since there is no Dave Daniels listed on the ANET Team page, that whoever it is doesn't work for ANet at all. Edit - ahh, hockster reponded before my post went through. Hockster - likely he was trying to scam someone with the "we have detected a EULA breach, give up XXX gold/items/etc or be banned from playing!".. and likely got your name by mistake... or something along those lines. The fact he never responded to backs that up... either that or he was expecting total fright from you and when you didn't act all scared he realized he couldn't scam you that way.. And I seriously doubt any GW admin's would bother talking about EULA violations in-game unless you said it right to their face anyways. Oh, and I would definately think they wouldn't misspell EULA as EUBA I'd report the person as it IS a breach of the EULA and GW rules to impersonate a ANet employee, GW Admin, etc. Last edited by Kamatsu; Jan 06, 2006 at 01:28 PM // 13:28.. |

just, report him. they will know if he's an employee. if he's not, well, tough luck for him... If he's not, he'd be screwed.
Also, if the devs want to play the game, they act "normal". |

He was using a standard character name, not their RL name as most do. I'm just going to send the screencap in and let Anet deal with it. This guy even provided an email address that doesn't exist.

given the location of the L and B keys on the keyboard it's not just a simple typo, more than likely he really thinks it's spelled EUBA and is almost certainly not an employee, report him with the screenshots and get him smacked for being a dumbass.
